Passengers should arrive at least 10 minutes before the scheduled departure time. The shuttles do not allow any customers on board within two minutes of departure for safety reasons.
You don’t need a reservation because the Flyaway bus service operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Unfortunately, this means that the Flyaway shuttle will leave the airport once it’s full, skipping any waiting passengers at all other terminals (typically Terminals 4-8, beyond Tom Bradley International Terminal). To avoid this hassle, you should walk or take the LAX shuttle to an earlier terminal.
Flyaway Van Nuys bus terminal is located at 7610 Woodley Avenue. Next to the bus terminal, there is covered and uncovered long term parking for $5 per day, with a 30-day limit. Be aware that parking may be limited during peak travel seasons.
The Flyaway shuttle departs Van Nuys 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. Depending on the time of day, the shuttle is scheduled in 15-minute, 30-minute, or 1-hour intervals. Arrival and departure times use Terminal 1 as a reference, so if you need Terminals 2-7 then you will need to allow a little extra time.
